CSV Action at BBC Radio Leicester is exhibiting 100 Images of Migration; a photographic exhibition about the people who have made the U.K their home. We would like to offer students, with relevant experience or interest, the opportunity to help us with the exhibit, using their knowledge and experience to support us with this project.
We are looking for volunteers for the following roles;
- Engaging visitors with the exhibition; assisting people to record audio stories and upload
- Social media savvy people to communicate stories creatively online
- Storytelling with objects workshop assistant, supported by Migration Museum Project staff
- Volunteers to record/edit audio stories
The exhibition will run from November 4th – 16th at BBC Radio Leicester, showcasing a large selection of the photographic images provided by the Migration Museum Project. Our aim for the exhibition is to inspire our audience and the local community to tell us about their own migration journeys to Leicester, which will be collected as audio stories. People will be invited to view the exhibition and leave a story. These stories will help to build a picture of migrant communities in Leicester, and also provide outreach resources for the Migration Museum Project to use within schools, etc.
Roles are flexible in terms of hours; we can try and work around volunteer availability. We require volunteers every day of the exhibition, but each volunteer can choose to do one or as many days as is convenient – commitment to the full two weeks is not required. Any support would be welcome.
Please contact Dimple Patel for details of the project, roles and any questions as soon as possible – 0116 2016644 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
